Great Guide for Beginners,
This book contains all the necessary elments of a ‘how to’ guide for beginners. The author starts with the basics of selecting and instrument and the proper posture for playing, to more advanced concepts such as fingering, strumming and learning chords. The author covers necessary areas of learning such as reading music, understanding tempo and finally actually creating pleasing music.
There is additional information in this book on what the beginner should expect with regards to things such as finger pain and hand strengthening which I found to be especially helpful as many books do not tell you what to expect when you first start practicing.
The learing process for any instrument involves overcoming certain limitations and difficulties. I appreciate that the author explains these beginner issues and explains that many of these limitations are normal and improve with practice and training.

|Complete but Simple Guide for Guitar Beginners,
I received a copy of this beginners guide to guitar and found it to be a comprehensive guide for learning to play this instrument. The author begins with a brief history of the guitar and then launches into the various styles of guitars and how they are the same and different and for what each style is best suited.
The book is then divided into lessens that begin with an explanation regarding posture and fingering and progress in an easy to follow manner to more complicated chords and fingering.
This guide is especially well suited for someone who is completely new to the guitar and needs to start learning from ground zero. The author does a great job of giving the reader the basics that are needed for any budding guitarist.
