Something is Missing,
Maybe I am missing something here, but the Kindle edition of this book seems to be missing something. The book seems to progress well, teaching you the background of the guitar and how to sit and hold the instrument properly. It then moves into teaching you chords. Simple enough. The diagrams show you where to put your fingers and which strings to play. This is what I expected. HOWEVER, at the end of the first lesson the author introduces “a new way of writing” chords. Maybe in the print edition it is explained better, but all that shows up in the Kindle edition is numbers. He mentions “solid dots, X’s and Diamonds, but they do not show up for me. Great start, but then it becomes worthless without teaching you much at all. I could have learned all of this for free from the interwebs. I bought the book because I thought it would teach me more. And please, if I am being dense and missing something, please correct me and point me in the right direction.
