The Sign Read, “Learn Acoustic Guitar Today” It Sounded Like A Good Idea
Learn acoustic guitar. Sure, no problem. That is no problem if you are naturally gifted musician. I didn’t think I was, but have always had a desire to learn to play guitar. I’m a little bit shy so the thought of going to take lessons with an instructor was overwhelming to me. The thought of learning in a group was embarrassing because I was afraid that I’d stink, but when I saw the sign that simply said, “Learn Acoustic Guitar Today” I took a gulp and decided to go for it.
No excuses
It was an exciting moment and a scary moment too when I committed to learning how to play a guitar. There were so many options out there and I wanted to make the right choice. I’ve never been a huge fan of technology, computers, and all those modern things. I’m a small town guy with pretty simple tastes. However, the only way I could learn how to play a guitar while still meeting all my requirements was to do it from the comfort of my own home. I had tried a book course once, but found it impossible to follow. Right before my eyes was a great course that literally took every excuse away that I’d been clinging to over the past few years. It was pretty cool looking and I decided to give it a try. I certainly had the time. Like I said, I’m from a small town and there is more idle time on my hands than I like to admit. Why not make my hands play the guitar instead of being idle?
The process
I was pretty happy to discover that it was easy to download my courses and navigate through them. I even learned some pretty cool things from the instructor on them. Did you know that the first guitar strings were made with animal guts? I didn’t and I’ll gladly admit that I am glad they are not made that way any longer. Even for a country boy like me that sounds a little disgusting. My course came with some direct information that guaranteed my success. The course said that everybody can learn acoustic guitar if they follow the steps and practice. It all starts with picking up the guitar. I picked up the dusty guitar and got started. I felt darn proud when I discovered that I could play my first song in just a week.
Thank you guitar lessons
I don’t mean to brag, but I got good enough at playing my guitar that I even played a song for some buddies around a bonfire one night. Before, I never would have guessed that I’d do something like that. Everyone was impressed and couldn’t believe that I’d only been playing for a month. This pretty girl even came up to me and said I was really good. I couldn’t help but smile and like lots of guys do, I played again because I wanted her to stay right there. Now, it is five years later and that same girl is next to me every night listening to me play. This country boy has done good.
To all you people out there who have had hesitation about learning how to play the guitar my advice to you is to give it a try from home. Learn acoustic guitar and discover all the great things that’ll start happening.
