Learn Electric Guitar “I Want To Bring Out My Inner Rock Star”
How could you not be a rock star if you learn electric guitar? Being a rock star is all about your mentality and mindset about it. There is not a single person out there – young or old – that doesn’t have a bit of rock star in them. Some people are rock stars at writing, some are rock stars and sports, and other are waiting to become a guitar playing rock star. You can be a rock star at whatever it is that trips your trigger. For me, I decided that I’d had enough of playing Guitar Hero to bring out my rock star qualities. I knew it was time for me to do the real deal and learn how to play an electric guitar.
Seriously! I should learn acoustic first?
I’m stubborn and when I know what I want to do I don’t want somebody telling me that I’m going about it all wrong. In my search for some fantastic electric guitar lessons I met an exact total of five instructors who told me that I needed to learn the acoustic guitar first – then I could move on to the electric guitar. What a bunch of crap! Nothing against the folksy sort, but that’s not me. I have no desire to be Jewel or James Taylor. Sure they sing great and are successful, but they don’t have the pizzazz that I visualize my inner rock star having.
After my frustration at the acoustic thing subsided I decided to explore other options. I checked online and found that I could learn electric guitar right away. Better yet, the teacher for the course would come right into my home and was confident that I could do it quickly. I found a great program and it proved me right. Electric guitars have been around since the early 1930’s and endless people have proven they could play them right from the start and be exceptional. Take Jimi Hendrix – he was a guru and he didn’t mess around with any acoustic bologna to start out.
Did you know that electric guitar playing is great exercise?
I sit around all day long at work and don’t have a lot of activity. When I get home I’m antsy and set to have some fun. Playing electric guitar is awesome for that. When I first started my arms got a bit soar from holding onto that thing so tight. I was afraid that I was going to drop Lola (that’s what I named her – we’ll save that story for a different time). It all came down to confidence in the end. The more I learned about the guitar as I followed along with my lessons the more I got to start moving around and having a blast. It was just like what my air jams used to be like. I am more reserved when I’m around others because I’m a one instrument act, but when I am alone I definitely unleash the rock star.
Who can do it? You can do it.
I’ve come to a reality in recent years. I have to admit that I’m not an especially talented musician. The way I learned to play the electric guitar is a program so easy that it could teach a monkey how to play. It was that easy to follow. What made it even more awesome was that it encouraged me along the way, helped me when I was confused, and taught me quickly. Once you learn a song you cannot deny that you can play guitar. I learned how to play my first song in just three days. That is fantastic and I definitely wrote in to the company about it. I wasn’t the first one to lay claim and that’s when I knew that I was lucky to have found a course that was just right for me – no settling.
Wow! What a change a single, simple decision makes in a life. I went from dreaming and pretending to play guitar to the real deal. There is no reason not to give it a try. You can learn electric guitar right away and you should give it a try rock star.
